Tuscaloosa County
Property Rights Alliance
We are a group of concerned citizens of Tuscaloosa County, probably a lot like yourself. We come from all vocations and walks of life: fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, sons, daughters, aunts, and uncles. But we all have one thing in common—a love and concern for our way of life in Tuscaloosa County. We do not like the direction that our local government is taking, and we want local government officials held accountable to the citizens of Tuscaloosa County.

Our first official meeting was on April 3, 2008. During this meeting, Don Casey with Alliance for Citizens Rights gave a presentation on:

About Us

“Sustainable Development,”
“Limited Home Rule,”
the “Junk Ordinance” and
the “Flood Damage Control Ordinance.”
We knew that the Limited Self Governance Act was passed in 2006—due to deceitful ballot language. We also knew that the “junk” ordinance had not been passed in Tuscaloosa County but we were totally caught off guard when it was published in the Tuscaloosa News on April 15, 2008. We knew at that point that we had to organize to educate the people of Tuscaloosa County and let them know what our local government officials were doing and were planning yet to do.

From this point forward our focus has been to organize, grow in numbers, and educate others.

Our first priority is to get Limited Home Rule back on the ballot in 2010 to be voted down!
I have no reason to suppose that he who would take away my liberty would not, when he had me in his power, take away everything else. [John Locke, Concerning Civil Government, Chapter III, Section 18]
